Taxidermy Studio

The taxidermist at Samples Ranch, David Samples, is a graduate of the Central Texas School of Taxidermy.  Some pieces David has worked on are currently on display in the Safari Club International Museum in Reno, Nevada.  In addition to the example pictured here, more of his work is on display in the Studio at the Ranch.

David is also a certified record book scorer for exotics.  If desired, you may receive a certificate of score for your trophy for only $50.

Prices for taxidermy are listed below.  There will be an
additional charge for any wood panels or custom, personalized work.

Field Care Tips

Shoulder Mounts

Do not cut up the brisket.  Leave plenty of skin behind the shoulder.  Leave
head in-tact, deliver immediately to taxidermist or double bag and freeze.

Birds

Do not gut or field dress.  Gently wipe any bloody feathers with a dry paper
towel.  Wrap the bird in clean paper towels, double bag and freeze.

Fish and Reptiles

Do not gut.  Handle as little as possible.  Wrap in paper towel, double bag and freeze.
